EDPR secures 70 MW of Storage in the US
Madrid, November 05th 2025: EDP Renováveis, S.A. (“EDPR”), through its fully owned subsidiary EDP Renewables North America LLC, has signed a 17-year Capacity Tolling Agreement with Ava Community Energy for a 70 MW (280 MWh) co-located Battery Energy Storage System (“BESS”).
The project, located in Fresno County, California, US, is an extension of an operational solar and storage facility and is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2026.
With this agreement, EDPR expands its North American footprint, building on its 3.4 GW of solar and 0.7 GW of BESS capacity in operation or under construction. This milestone reinforces EDPR’s low-risk, long-term growth strategy and its commitment to innovation and storage technologies as key enablers of the energy transition and decarbonization.
