Madrid, June 11th 2024: EDP Renováveis, S.A. (“EDPR”), through its fully owned subsidiary EDP Renewables North America LLC, has secured a 20-year Long-Term Reliability Services 1 (LT1) contract with the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator (“IESO”), to sell the energy, capacity and ancillary services delivered from the 75 MWac (300 MWh) Edgeware BESS battery storage facility.

The project is located in the city of St. Thomas, Ontario, and is expected to reach commercial operations in 2027.

EDPR has already secured >70% of the ~10 GW total capacity additions target for 2024-2026, presented in May 2024 Business Plan Update, continuing to reinforce its low-risk profile and growth strategy based on the development of competitive projects with long-term visibility, fostering the acceleration of the energy transition and the decarbonization of the economy.
